Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic.
- Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists. Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s topic is Favourite Things to Eat/Drink While Reading. Now, I don’t eat or drink while reading mainly for fear of accidental spillage or crumbs and grease spots in places I don’t want them (like anywhere near precious books). So instead I’m going to bring you ten books with food or drink in their title. Links from the book titles will take you to my review or more information about the book on Goodreads.
Chocolat by Joanne Harris
Cakes and Ale by W. Somerset Maugham
Fruit of the Lemon by Andrea Levy
Blackberry and Wild Rose by Sonia Velton
The Ice Cream Girls by Dorothy Koomson
Bitter Orange by Claire Fuller
Sugar Money by Jane Harris
The Greengage Summer by Rumer Godden
Pomegranate Soup by Marsha Mehran
Pig Tails ‘n’ Breadfruit by Austin Clarke
Hungry yet?
What a brilliant idea!

I love your take on the theme!
I really need to read Chocolat, I’ve heard the most amazing things about it.

This was a fun twist. Yeah, there are a lot of food-themed books out there, and these ones sound good.

This was a fun twist! now this makes me wonder how many books I’ve read that actually have food in the title, or are food related

I just noticed I have a book called Appetite (by Philip Kazan) on my bookshelf so there are probably lots more out there….

A great take on this week’s topic! ‘Bitter Oranges’ may not be the most hunger-inducing title, but strangely it is the one I am most keen to read.
