Top Ten Tuesday: Backlist Books I Want to Read

Top Ten Tuesday new

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.

The rules are simple:

  • Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
  • Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
  • Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
  • Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

This week’s topic is Backlist Books I Want to Read.  How long have you got?  I have so many books in my TBR pile that I decided to take a #shelfie of ten books published prior to 2018 on my ‘waiting to be read’ bookshelf and use that to create my list.

(I’m rather embarrassed that so many of them are review copies I’ve not yet got around to reading and reviewing on my blog.  Lovely publishers, I will read them soon…promise!)

      1. I took it on holiday with me but never got around to picking it up. I really want to read it because I love all things Roman but the amount of pages is currently putting me off a little.

    1. Luckily for me, all the books I got as review copies mentioned in my blog post I also took part in blog tours for (hosting extracts, Q&As, etc). I never sign up for a blog tour unless I’m pretty sure I’ll like the book as it’s a personal rule not to promote on my blog a book I wouldn’t consider reading myself (I don’t want to be just the equivalent of an advertising hoarding). So I’m hoping I’ll like them all when I get to read them.

  1. I haven’t got any of these books on my backlist, but I have read Munich, Pompeii and The Body in the Ice and can recommend each of them – I thoroughly enjoyed each one.

    1. You’ve made me even more eager to read them now. Really, to keep us ‘honest’, we need a Top Ten Tuesday topic a few months from now – Books on my Backlist I Said I’d Read and I Did!
