ARC August, now in its sixth year, is an annual event hosted by the lovely ladies at Read.Sleep.Repeat.
No space/time for another reading challenge? This one couldn’t be easier and may help you progress with other reading challenges you have already. The rules of ARC August couldn’t be simpler:
- Any Advanced Reading Copy counts as part of this reading challenge; your backlist books count
- No blog is necessary to participate, but you’ll need to include some form of social media as part of your sign up
- Use the hashtag #ARCAugust on social media to check-in
There’s no pressure, you set your own target. It’s just about having fun and getting through some ARCs. I’ve signed up because it’s the perfect motivation for me to focus on the NetGalley titles and other ARCs I have with publication dates in August plus books I need to read for blog tours next month. I’ve kept my target realistic (OK, relatively realistic) at just six ARCs. Clicking on the title will take you to the Goodreads page for each book.
Happiness is a Collage by Gita Reddy
In the Blood by Ruth Mancini
The Unlikely Heroics of Sam Holloway by Rhys Thomas
A Quiet Genocide by Glenn Bryant
The Psychology of Time Travel by Kate Mascarenhas
The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker
This year there will also be two read-a-thons during ARC August. The first runs from August 4 -5, 2018 and there will be another closer to the end of the month. There’ll also be Bookish Bingo! Find all the details you need on the sign-up post.
